Lucy Landymore

 

Lucy Landymore is an award-winning multi-percussionist, drummer and composer. As a soloist, she has performed concertos for marimba, vibraphone and multi-percussion and given concerts of her own compositions in many prestigious venues worldwide.

In order to nurture the diverse style Lucy integrates into her compositions and performances, she studied Samba in Rio de Janeiro and traditional cuban styles in Havana. As the drummer with the World of Hans Zimmer, Lucy frequently performs to sold-out arenas. She previously toured with Hans Zimmer Live, which can be seen on the DVD Live in Prague. Lucy is also guest lead percussionist and drummer with world-renowned duo Igudesman & Joo, regularly collaborating with many respected orchestras including the Oslo Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, to name a few.

When she was 17, Lucy won the percussion final of the 2010 BBC Young Musician competition, where she performed The Black Page by Frank Zappa.

Lucy has since been featured on numerous TV and Radio stations showcasing her unique work, including Deutsche Welle, BBC Radio stations and many others. Many international publications have featured Lucy’s work, including the German Drums & Percussion magazine and the French Batterie magazine, where Lucy was listed as one of the Top 10 New Drummers.

Lucy has given masterclasses on Film Music Drumming and Composing for Vibraphone as far across the globe as the Singapore Yong Sew Too Conservatory of Music.

In 2019 Lucy Landymore composed Fantaisie Festive for orchestra and 17 soloists, which was commissioned by the Puplinge Classique Festival for the 10 Year Gala in Victoria Hall, Geneva. Her composition Roo for solo vibraphone, violin and orchestra has also been toured in venues across Europe with Lucy as a vibraphone soloist.

Lucy’s piece Vibr-ant, for solo vibraphone, is published on Universal Editions. Lucy is proudly endorsed by Meinl Percussion, Meinl Cymbals, Ludwig Musser and SE Electronics.
