XRB-2 BLACK HEAD, is just a fine nuance harder than the XRB-1 and is the medium model of our three rubber heads series xylophone mallets.  While it is also excellent mallet choice for long hours of practicing, it is just slightly harder than the RED Head XRB-1.  With matte finish, 28 mm size rubber head, this mallet offers very good balance and performing feel, and also can be used in a chamber setting where specifically a soft xylophone sound has been requested.  It is medium weight xylophone mallet, so your two mallets fast runs and technique practicing will result in building good chops. Perfect practicing mallets, rubber-wooden sound, best suitable for hours long scales and technique practicing. XRB-2 is also a very good choice for Multipercussion including bongos, wood blocks etc…. We at SchlagKraft cut, send, turn, glue, and wrap the yarn on our mallets 100%  by hand.  XRB-2, as well as all others Schlagkraft Mallets, are handcrafted with pride in our workshop.

Try multipercussion set-up with bongos, wood blocks, etc… you will be very happy with a clear and loud outcome but never to harsh.
